Who we are
Enable Ireland provides services to over 9,200 children and adults with physical, sensory and intellectual disabilities in 15 counties across Ireland.
Enable Ireland has provided services to children with disabilities in Cork since the
1950s. In 2016, we launched an ambitious fundraising campaign to build a state of
the art Children’s Services Centre on a new site in Curraheen. Our old centre was no longer suitable for the needs of existing and future generations of children in Cork. In April 2019, we were delighted to welcome the first families and parents into the new Lavanagh Centre in Curraheen. From this centre, we will provide vital therapies and rehabilitation services to over 860 children.
But we still need €1million to complete the funding for this special Cork project, can you help? All of the net proceeds from this appeal will go to this project which will benefit children for generations to come.
The new Enable Ireland children’s services campus includes a respite house and a hydrotherapy pool. Services provided on site in the new Lavanagh Centre include
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, early years’
education, psychology and social work.
