Enable Ireland
Enable Ireland provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families from over 40 locations in 14 counties. Covering childhood to adulthood our expert teams work with the individual and their family on a plan for each life stage.
Enable Ireland has provided disability services in Cork for nearly 70 years. Since 2021 Enable Ireland has been lead agency for three Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT’s). These teams provide supports and services for children, young people and their families from birth to 18 years with complex disabilities. Services and supports provided to children and families include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language, psychology and social work. We also provide respite services to children and young people from Lavanagh House along with hydrotherapy from our purpose built pool.

In 2016, we launched an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise €7.5million to build a state of the art Children’s Services Centre on a new site in Curraheen, Cork. Our old centre was no longer suitable for the needs of our children and the future children of Cork. Since 2016, we have received significant support from the people and businesses in Cork and a €2million Capital Allocation from the HSE. In April 2019, we were delighted to welcome the first families and parents into the new Lavanagh Centre in Curraheen. From this centre we will provide vital therapies and rehabilitation services to over 1800 children with physical and intellectual disabilities.
Win A House Cork Goal
To date, we have had great support and at present we have just under €250K left to raise to complete the funding on the new capital project which opened in 2019. The goal of the Win A House Cork campaign is to complete the funding of this children’s centre.
